EFI conversion

Post by slugma »

So I've considered putting EFI and a turbo on my astron 1, it will soon have an astron 2 head (M28), I've found a few cheap magnas around, but unsure of what will fit with no or next to no hassle.
The one I'm interested in is a TR. Will this fit straight on?
If not, which ones do, or what is my best option for a hassle free conversion?
Cheers, Matt.

the TR inlet will bolt straight onto a M28 head you may have to do a small amount of port matching as the ports on the head will be a bit smaller the TR has about 42 mm port and the m 28 - 40 mm
it will work without matching the port but will work better without the step to upset the flow
the other issue you may have I think they sit a big heigher and you may have some clearance to bonnet problem
that of cause could be cut down

the other thing the astron 2 head will drop the comp and it depends on what you are doing running high boost or not

if you chat to Karl 2lt , his baby sh!t brown galant runs flat tops and std astron 2 combution chambers ( so std NA comp )
and low boost , from memory had 138 KW atw with only 6 psi of boost ( that car has no lag it drives great straight off the bottom of the range before boost like a NA ) - with an intercooler that boost would still be safe to 10 psi a possable 180 Kw atw
again it would have no lag it make for a very nice street set up

if you get the tr jut swap the heads over. you'll get roller rockers, bige valves nd ports aswell as no need to port match.
