GB Galant windscreen rubbers??

I've been looking around and am yet to find someone who sells front and rear windscreen rubbers for a GB galant sedan. Jackson's seem to have most of the others but I cant see the screen ones listed. I dont really want to have new shiny paint and have to fit the old rubbers again, mine are pretty average. Anyone ever found a source for these,

Thanks for the links but I tried those and neither list a front or rear screen seal. Under something common like a mk2 cortina (ok maby not that common) they list :

Screen seal - front 218.498 $114.08 each Convert 1
Screen seal - rear 218.499 $115.49 each Convert 1
Locking strip - plastic chrome - fr/re 217.405 $25.18 kit Convert 2 kits/car
Locking strip - black rubber - fr/re 217.414 $26.81 kit Convert 2 kits/car

These are the bit's i'm after for the GB.

the chrome insert is not available anywhere at the moment dodgy Phills Rotray will sell you some that definately fits their rubbers but actually doesnt and he then wont refund you so Im not about to recommend him in anyway. It looks like early 80's Toyota Corolla insert might fit but I cant get that either.

Guess I will just do the rounds when I have the rubber in my hand and see what might match up to it, hope I can find something, if I do I will pass it on.

Hey,

Not sure on GB ? but the countless times i've been to O'briens (don't ask ) they have always been able to get rubber to suit the GD.

Might be worth a shot.

Just had a look at the pamphlet in the glove box... only seems to have the number of our local branch on it, although there was a 13 16 16 number, seems to be their 24hr number.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll put the window rubbers in "worry about that later pile" and just go ahead with the paint anyways. Like Scott said a visit in person later down the track with rubber in hand should turn up something.

Well after removing it I have decided to replace the front windscreen, so I was looking though the Protector windscreen cataloge and noticed that GA/GB galant sedan & wagon, GC/GD wagon only and GD Coupe all share the same windscreen, which is different to the GC/GD sedan. Also noticed after a quick scan though that the dimensions for the galant screen (1335mm across the bottom, 562mm height at center) are close to those of a mk2 escort (1332mm & 575mm). So the cataloge my be handy in making a short list of possible substitutions when I try to track one down.

Shuggy, Can u double check for me to make shaw they have the right 1.
I went to the wreckers today and held a GA up agains a GC and they are Different.
So using a seal from a differnt model wont work..



Could u guys Please make some phone calls to your wreckers, window ppl, friends, cousins, mates who eva to try track me down a front and rear.

You can evan tell me it's worth more then it really is to make ur self money..

For a GB you can use a GA sedan (obviously) or any wagon (even GC, GD - they have the same windscreen as the early models)

yeh GA/GB are one sort, and GC/GD are another. this is definately so witht he fronts, not too sure about the rears tho.

I got front and rear today after much F7vking around i get em.


350 bux for front and rear but i really couldn't care less..

Adelaide restorers hotline had 1 front on the shelf and are making me a rear..
