Awesome ride I cant wait for the end result!! i love the plan you have for it so far. where are you heading with the side mirrors in placement are you going to go with the drawing and place on the doors or are you going to have a see what it would look like with fendor mirrors either way its going to be one mean looking ride! keep up the work I cant wait to see more photos of progress!

Re: tubbys GN panel van project
I am going to either put in the channels from a ge-gh and change windows, or cover the spot where the old mirror used to be with a panel. or find some cheap doors. I will get to that when the back is done. anyone know if a ge sedan front end will fit? I heard they never bothered changing the basic structure of the wagons so it could be a possibility.

Looks awsome, cant wait to see it on a cruise. What are the plans for the tailgate? are you going to leave it as is?
change it to the doors like on the ford panel van?

or like on a Sandman?

Pity it is not a Sandman.... LOL However to change teh rear doors to like this wouldnt be too hard. Infact you could get the hinges etc from any ealry holden wagon.GB_BB4C wrote:...or like on a Sandman?

The way God intended it.....Chrysler for the win

Re: tubbys GN panel van project
The funny thing about you guys talking about tailgates like a Sandman, is the guys who customise them quite often make their tailgates one piece (like the Sigma one is to start).
I like the cleaner lines on the one piece tailgate.
But being able to drive around with the top tailgate up, with your surfboard (or whatever)hanging out the back would be awesome.
I say keep it simple. Leave it alone...

Aint got much done It was all of 5 degrees outside last coupla' nights, I was going to go grab some GE 1/4 panels off the sedans at u-pull-it south but I checked on their website just as I was about to leave and they had scrapped them. That ruined my weekend pretty much anyone in SA got any GE 1/4 panels?
Anyway had some time to get some sketching done that I been meanin' to do. Another of my crazy ass ideas.

Damn there go my kudos for thinking of that one. looks pretty cool though.
passenger side looking the goods.

bonnet fail

I have heaps of little dents and scrapes and crap to sort out before I get painting in earnest (not to mention wait till it gets above 10 friggin degrees)
I need a ge front end donor, anyone know someone in SA I might be able to get a few bits and pieces but better to have my bases covered.

How much you want for the visor and i do have a left and right blinker assembly?
Re: tubbys GN panel van project
Yeah I seen that grille the other day But mine is in good nic. I dont really know how much those visor things are worth... I only paid $500 for the whole car! A trade?

Re: tubbys GN panel van project
Sounds like a plan i will dig them out of the shed and take some pics tomorrow.
Re: tubbys GN panel van project
chucked the front end on. only had to cut like 10kgs of steel off to get it to fit
I got all of 5mm of clearance on the air con fan. had to move my thermostat and I will have to fab up several brackets to get it to fit. any body know how well the Gh bumpers mate up to the Ge front end? BTW all the siggy 1/4 panels seem to have the same bolt holes where they connect to the body, GE-GN I obviously know for sure. I also have a set of busted old GH scorpion panels they fit but the body line is different and the shape of the guard where it mates up to the is different.

Re: tubbys GN panel van project
Looks much better with the GE front but you must keep the chrome bumpers

Re: tubbys GN panel van project
I thought the gh wagon bumpers were chrome damn, now I need a set of ge bumpers.

I been fighting off a nasty case of the cant be arsed-s' lately. but I got some work done here and there.
Might have a bit of a solution for the vent grille thingy

Bodykit mesh. paint the bits underneath black and feed the mesh in there, should look good and no more god-dammned leaves in my friggin quarter guards......
What do you think?
