Aftermarket gauges
Aftermarket gauges
Hi guys , been a long time since I've been on here .
A long time ago I had some aftermarket gauge faces made for my GE scorpion .
I can't remember who made them or where I got them.
They where white in colour .
Does any 1 know about them ???? I need some more as the heat wave has melted them
Hope so one can help.
Cheers

Re: Aftermarket gauges
There was a guy on Austarion that made the white faced gauges...but that was ages ago. He even had them on eBay.
Re: Aftermarket gauges
84GKSIG did one for his car - http://www.sigma-galant.com/viewtopic.p ... uge#p55643
Re: Aftermarket gauges
Yep the white ones are what I'm after , but they don't seem to be on ebay anymore
Does any 1 have details on the guy from austarion ?? I can't find him
Are 84GKSIG's made of just paper ?? Or did he get them engraved or something ??
I can't re-use the ones I have as there all buckled
Any other options guys ??

Re: Aftermarket gauges
Have you tried heat gunning yours and placeing like a flat weight on it to straighten it out ?
Re: Aftermarket gauges
hey there, i used paper in the prototypes, went through hours of experimenting with with different materials to find something i was happy with. your dead set on white faced gauges? they dont look that good imo.
this was a white face test on paper
these are not
in this last one, paper on the gauge to the left and plastic film in the middle, you do need a colour laser printer with a high res. may have another way of being able to construct these now as well

Re: Aftermarket gauges
The gauges look great.
I would recommend you swap out the standard globes with LEDs so you can reduce the amount of heat produced.
Don't want them to warp or burn.
Cheers.

heres a slight clue, in the final version i wanted to use RGB leds so you could choose your colour on the fly. give me a good bit of time and ill slap something together

Re: Aftermarket gauges
Thanks for all your input guys.
Yea I like the white faces, dont like to much goin on in the dash, the ones shown on here seem a bit to rice for me lol
So what type of material did you use for your gauges 84GKSIG ? clear plastic , then printed on ? are they rigid or floppy?
I wont do paper, it seems like a bit of a bodge job if i was to do that.
Did you figure out the template for the gauges or did you find a template somewhere ?
