I use Tectaloy, normally 60 Plus (I use Gold in my HJ Galant), and it runs pretty well. My dad recently switched to Genuine Mitsubishi in his VR4, but I'm happy to stick with the Tectaloy. The car's run Tectaloy most of it's 38 year life, and I've never had any corrosion problems.

I've only ever used genuine...mainly because the Mitsubishi Coolant was free (used to work there)...but that stuff was very good
I also used genuine Ford stuff as (at least with the early alloy headed 6's) low quality aftermarket coolants killed those engines....so I never took chances with them

Water with some green stuff in it and a dash of lubricant for the water pump.
Rust in the block is no prob if you run the thing regularly.
Corroded heads? Well, imho the porosity will kill them first (if not already).
Just change the stuff regularly and look out for emerging problems.
