I keep telling 84GKSIG that he doesn't need so many cars, then I go out and buy another one.

I have a couple photos and some info, but will add more later.

Last time it was registered was from 15/07/96 - 14/10/96. From what I have been told, it was last driven when the rego ran out. Nothing had been done to it since then, 15 years, yet it still runs.


This goes to prove how awesome the Saturn engines are.


It even comes with both Mitsubishi and Chrysler badges.



From the original photos, and what I saw when the car arrived, it looked like the seats were fabric, and all ripped. On closer inspection, they appear to be brown leather trim.

Thanks. Currently I am thinking about fixing the rust, giving it a nice paint job, and keeping everything else original.

If the 'Y' was an 'I', it would be better, but UZY-101 sounds good though. Probably will start doing some work on it when I have time between my LC and GN. From what I can see, I didn't see any dents, except for a minor one in the rear bumper. The rest is straight. It is just the rust that is the main problem.


Kicking around some ideas for the paint. Going to keep it red, but maybe a darker shade, or candy apple. This is one idea so far.

Looks to be part of a round rego sticker stuck to the front windscreen.

Once the plugs were cleaned it seemed to run suprisingly smooth after all this time.

I do think the mechanicals are the least of your worries though.

i like the ford rear mudflaps, are they original?

on another note, if those driver side mirrors are any type of hard to get, it looks the same as the ones on the early valiants (ve vf vg)

good luck restoring it mate, these are hardly around anymore so if you do restore it, it would be good to get it on the road.

Grabbed a couple things down at U-Pull-It. The side mirror + rear view mirror are from a GA, but looks to be around the same size as what would go into the LB.

I am wondering if anyone knows the deal with the tail light surrounds - I have never seen these on a LB sedan in AUS. Mine & all the others I have seen or remembered seeing have the shorter surrounds (they end well before the No. plate). These I have seen overseas, but not in AUS.
Just wondering.

HI Cottee, ive been searching the net for a project such as yours - I have an excact replica, '77 LB, even down to the colour. ('California Orange', i discovered a few years ago). Its the best car ive ever had, owned it for 13 years. Sadly, it got too run down a couple of years ago and has been in my garage, unregistered ever since, covered in dust and cobwebs. Now under orders from the missus to get rid of it. Judging by the photos you posted Its in a bit better condition than yours was when you first got it, and its 95% factory original. Im not a restorer, if i was i'd do it. Some bad rust patches, and a non original boot lid. Im sure theres a lot of parts etc you could use. I'd hate to see it go to a wrecker, it was my faithful steed.
I'm on the Mornington peninsular in Vic.
