Looking good, would love to have a shed that size. Bet you can't wait to be able to use the mill and lathe.

Too right.

Getting my toy lathe (500mm between cntrs) modified for CNC control while the shed is going up.
40mm wide Linear rails, C3 ballscrews, Stepper motor drive with a G-Code 4 axis controller.

At a later time, I plan to use one of the spare axises for a rotary tool changer.
The other will control the headstock for indexing when using live tooling.

Just one of the many projects I have planned for when the shed is operational.

Cheers.

Probably, once I test out a few of the designs I've been thinking about.
The beauty of a CNC is once you design a part and program it in, it's easy to make more.

BTW: I'm a computer "Network Engineer" (more commonly referred to as geek), not a fitter, so there is going to be a fair learning curve involved before I start making anything.

No idea what half of that means but it sounds fancy :D

Looking good mate im still trying for a carport at the bottom of my drive way so i dont get wet when pulling apart the Lancer.....full overhall of it coming soon :D
Starion struts and front brakes
New Terratrip probe
Koni Adjustable shocks
Hilux LSD rear
New motor (putting some $$$ into it so it doesnt blow again, or put the 2.2L in it that was going to be the turbo motor, still undecided)
6mm Al bash plate
Truck Mudflap protection for fuel tank
New Rear shocks
Lightening it (getting rid of sound deadening)
Painting roll cage
Fix rust

In that order :D
Head and quads work to come next year mostly likely when i save up some more $$$

Nah! thats not a lot of scorpions is it superscan811. Had the pleasure of a visit from for-mentioned member when he was up in QLD picking up some parts. Does thirteen (13) of them sound like I may have a problem (complusive scorpion disorder).

SUPERSCAN good to see that your shed has come to light. Still waiting on mine. Council paid me a visit too, some neighbour complained about mice and pointed to my cars, wait till i find out which one it was(dobber) they came, they looked, they took photos, and told me that they couldn't find any evidence of mice. Yard looks amazingly well kept and organized. NO FURTHER ACTION WILL BE TAKEN.

Not that fancy. Just an old lathe that was in need of a lot of TLC and decided to make it a bit better.
Since I'm better with computers than using my hands, I might as well make it computer controlled.
My brother is going to do most of the retro fit, I'll just do the electric/electronic side of it.
scorpioncollector wrote:SUPERSCAN good to see that your shed has come to light.
Thanks. Been a long time coming but it will be worth it in the end.

No problem at all in my book.
scorpioncollector wrote:...some neighbour complained about mice and pointed to my cars...
Wish you the best of luck "sorting out the problem" AFTER your shed goes up.
I expect they would appreciate seeing/smelling a lot of dead mice around, as proof you are actively doing something to stop that terrible mice plague....

Thats what I call 'My diff". Its a GA I bought from Orange for the hilux LSD in it and have since decided to fix up (was on ebay a while back). Its being stored at Scott's place as my parents dont know about it, the White GB in front is mine too....thats know as "the interior" which is for said diff ;p.

Let me know if you need a hand Scott, willing to help as uve helped me.

May take you up on the offer. I'm stripping the GK Scorp donor car and will need a hand getting the block and gearbox out.

Getting closer.

Builders should be finished tomorrow. :D
Once they finish I have to build a 5m sliding door for the center bay.

Now I have to organize the electrician to run the 3 phase.
Hope this doesn't take as long as it did for Cheater.

I'm welcoming another car into my collection.

The GN Wagon.

The guy bought it as a vandalized vehicle late 1991 and has sat in his shed for the last 18 years.
He repaired all the panel damage (the vandals took to the car with a wheel brace and put cigarette burns in all the seats)
Zero structural damage, just replaced the 2 front guards, repaired the tailgate, bonnet and rear roof section.
The biggest expense (excluding rego) will be replacing the front windscreen, which has a crack through it.

Image

Image

Image

The last time it was rego'd was back in July 1991.
Image

Only done 40,350k's
Image

The engine is barely worn in. Oil was clear so I poured a few liters of petrol in the tank and a splash in the carby,
and it started almost first go, well once I remembered to re-connected the fuel line.. :$
Image

Hope to have this car up and running before Christmas.

Cheers.

Been offered another GH Scorpion. Supposed to be in fairly good condition as well.

Was hoping for another parts car to finish off the others rather than another car too good to strip..

Guess I'll have to check it out tomorrow. :(

Now thinking seriously about paying someone to bring them up, especially after the last close call.
This Scorp i was offered, was going to the crushers if I didn't want it.
Just hoping it's bad enough to strip and crush otherwise I'll have another project, just when I'm trying to cut back.

I'll know on Friday.

Don't know what you mean, Sydney to Melbourne via Mt Hotham, isn't that the most direct route? :P
It was a lot of fun with a car trailer on the back of a sigma wagon and negotiating some of the bends... :D

So whats the problem, whats another one added to the collection. I've just acquired one of those scorpion things, have to stop fertilizing the lawn they just keep popping up in the yard when I turn my back (or the old girls back )

That makes 14

Man cave is complete and lockable. :D :D

CNC mill is running, file transfer is working, but the DNC (computer drip feed for the mill) isn't yet.
Air compressor is operational.
Sand blasting cabinet is repaired and now works.
Manual lathe arriving Thursday.
Still trying to organize transport for the CNC lathe from Moama (the shipping companies want to charge me more to ship it, than I paid for the lathe). :@

Still getting the hang of the TIG welder (made the shed doors and they haven't fallen off yet).

PS: If any body is in the market for a cheap hydraulic 4-post car hoist, let me know. Came as a job lot with the manual lathe...
