hey man i think i have the same noise! only started not long ago.....

the noise only it audible at 80kms in 4th as its a constant wierd kinda scratchy grindy noise but when its in 5th in kinda low revs and u flatten it it sounds like a train going along the tracks like chh chh chh chh chh lol

dont k now what it is either.
personally i dont car anymore! over it!

hope u get to the bottom of it.

check the play of the bearing and the carrier on the shaft? If its excessive as i learned just recently it'll make the bearing come into contact with the clutch while cruising.

shuggy when you say a kit was it everything? clutch cover, disc, spigot bearing in flywheel and ne thrust bearing? or just clutch cover and disc?

its only when i push the clutch in, doesnt make the noise when only just touching the clutch nly when pushed say half way in

yeh i think its the bearing but i dont wana check incase it is haha, i dont wana pul out the engine for the 6th time...

yea it was disk, pressure plate and thrust bearing, and the flywheel bearing i took out and cleaned up/greased.
i have a feeling that coz when i went to install my clutch i stuck on the bearing first then when i wentt to stick on the pressure plate i reaslised i ahd the wrong flywhel on so i had to get the disk and plate swapped. and i kept the same bearing. i rekon the bearing is the rong size
il get under her in next few days n have a look
cheers

If you really want a different suggestion other than Clutch Thrust Bearing, I can suggest worse.

How about Crankshaft end play?

No you probably didn't want to hear me suggest that.

It'll be the clutch thrust bearing I think. I hate thrust bearings.

how did you put the new thrust bearing on?
You can't press it on by the outside of the bearing or you stuff it.
It must be pressed on by pushing the centre of the bearing only (the part that doesn't rotate when pressed on), you may have damaged it. They are not that expensive to buy on there own. I use a large socket and use the vice to press them on.

i just tapped myn on with a hammer and the edge of a screwdriver on the inner bit, even so they must be able to hold pressure if they can push open a clutch right?

Yeah but it's even pressure, and the way that it's designed to take it.
