From your description I would say it's a 4G63 SOHC (8 valve) engine. Found in Lancer Turbo, Starion and Saporro Turbo/Scorpion. ECI stands for Electronically Controlled Injection.

Pics now fixed. Yep, ECI is Electronic/Electronically Controlled Ignition. Looks like a single port injected setup.

Re: NEED HELP! WHAT ENGINE IS THIS?
I had the twin carb version of this engine in my Celeste (originally from 1982 Saporro GSR)
I think you are wrong Cottees: it's not "Ignition" but "Injection". Ignition still works with the distributor and big coil pack iso electronically controlled coil packs. On the other hand you are right: this is a monopoint fuel injection setup.

Re: NEED HELP! WHAT ENGINE IS THIS?
If I had a Galant, this is the engine I'd use (albeit, I'd scrap the ECI and use twin carbies for the more 'period correct performance' and simplicity)
