Hey all,
My old man has two 1981 Mitsubishi Scorpions, one of which will not start.
It was bought from Queensland and couriered to Melbourne from where it was picked up and driven home.
It ran like a dream and was driven a few times. One day, dad went to start it, but it was completely dead.
Checked the basic electrical system, such as battery condition, alternator, etc. All seemed fine.
Just wondering if anyone has had this trouble before on a Scorpion or something similar.
Both engines are 2.6ltr .
Thanks in advance!

Fusable Link? It's a short red wire that connects to the positive battery terminal, and designed to blow if there is a bad short or similar somewhere.

Do the headlights work and do the lights on the dash come on when the ignition is turned on?
If yes, it could be the starter relay or solenoid.
Cheers.

Following on from the last couple of responses, I'd be going through a systematic approach to diagnosis. Confirm power is there, then work back from the battery - is there power going to the solenoid? Is the car trying to start? Do you have a spark? Is there fuel being pumped? Hopefully it should be an easy one to nut out
