All Scorpions use the same rear brake pads. Even the same pads if you change over to Starion rear brakes. DB252

Image
^^ See the first couple of pages, fixed up the interior quite alot, from seats down to lock mechanisms, door panels etc.

few more things i wanna do though :thumpsup:

Image
Image
^^ Current setup, wanna get new wheels and tyres, soonish if mine sell. Also obviously get it charged, back with the ole carby for now. (H)

Image
^^ Dunno how this broke, but will be fixed tmoz :@ (lucky i have spares!)

Image
^^ Also bit of rust in the following pic behind where the rear facia between the lights. Because of a previous ding, its pissing me off along with the rust in the door and the rear lower qtr... wanna start getting this sorted along with the different coloured rear beaver which needs to be cut down to fit my Supercat exhaust.

shoulda taken a rego pic but ohwell :lol:

Also got a sway bar and balance shaft removal kit coming.

plan to do the following next;

- Fix brakes, run the rears finally :ban:

- Exhaust all the way through, get rear beaver cut to fit the Supercat. Get extractors put on, still need to coat them once more with paint.

Might get abit of heat shield for the bottom as it gets pretty hot near the clutch.

- Fusion speakers 4' in front door panels..

- Attack the wiring again, still not happy with it... want it done professionally.

- Springs + Shocks??

- also new tyres and wheels?? wheels depend on if this lad buys my rims.

2.5" exhaust all the way through to the Supercat seen below, plus extractors on.
Image

then just when you think your getting somewhere... something else is there to set you back...

so had to get one of these;
Image

pitty is after a days driving my $40 paint job on the extractors fucked out... already started peeling off :@

Next i wanna fix this stupid wiring/instrument cluster...

tonight the car said it was overheated after being at low the whole time, then it peaked to max... :hit: :hit: :facepalm:

only instrument to work is the speed'o.

also need new springs/shocks... springs are cut... don't like dodgey shit.

Handbrake needs fixing, prob get the brakes done this week to.

What sort of paint did you use?
In aerosol, I found Septone heat proof is garbage, but the VHT heat proof is much better.
I sprayed the extractors on my bike, the Septone paint lasted for 1000km's and the VHT for about 5000km's.

Do all Sigma's have these problems with gauges not working? The only problem Galant gauges seem to have is the clocks stop working.

My sigma guages are funny. In my old GH the temp and fuel level fluctuate up and down in time with each other. 1 minute it's at running temp with a 1/4 tank, a minute later it says it's overheating and i have 1/2 a tank. The new GH seems to be good though.

Scorpions don't seem to have many problems except for the ammeter which only seems to move about 1mm up and down in every Scorpion I have seen.

Also i've never had any real success with the extractor paint either. I used VHT on a stock Scorp manifold and the 1st time I drove it about 75% burnt off in the first 10k's. Was driving along in a cloud of smoke :$

A little tip on painting extractors and I have said it many time on these forums DONT USE EXTRACTOR PAINT

Bunnings Oven/bbq paint is the stuff to use, if your doing NEW headers they need to be sandblasted first as they have a coating on them that burns off, it also give a better surface for the paint to stick to

Get them very warm before you paint them too

Alright thanks for the tips guys, will defiantly try the BBQ paint, i thought the stuff i had would be suitable due to the BBQ heatproof thing on them, said BBQ's haha 650 degree.

Car sounds filth ay.

Best stuff I've ever used was Por 51 paint products.They have heat proof exhaust paint that can be sprayed or brushed on and it doesn't fade at all.I'ts the ducks guts.Expensive but it's worth it in my opinion.

Back to old problems this morning, just what i need...

driving home after a late night being out at the local tavern (wasn't drinking haha)

and what do you know. Car stalls, and doesn't start again.

I suspect straight away that its the old problem i once had with dirty fuel.

Then i realize the 14mm spanner i usually keep in the boot is missing haha... therefore stranded with no tool to fix the problem.

Ended up getting a set of multi grips as i was miles from home, un-done the bolt on the carby an voila! The filter inside blocked once again... :@

What would cause this?? Dirty fuel lines?? fuel tank??

i thought i fixed this... put metho in the fuel tank and it got rid of the problem for some time!

Now its happening all over again...

maybe this time ill try look for the problem instead of using a temporary fix.

Not the way i wanted to start off my day :@ :@

Why not run through a tank of E10. The ethanol should give the fuel system a good clean.

Another Engine out;
Image
Image

Engine that blew a head and pretty much had every seal fucked, also bearings were rat shit;
Image

Gear for the new Engine, including the brakes that still aren't on haha;
Image

Galant engine going in also including the rebuilt gearbox with a new clutch (exedy HD);
Image

Also put on a newer pipe, other one was pretty badly corroded;
Image

Engine in!;
Image

and just when i thought things were going good i needed one of these (fuel pump diaphram was farked, so had to drain the whole block once again...);
Image

which is alot better then this, (nut in a hose haha);
Image

then i needed to buy new oil all over again, along with a belt with a bit more tension while i was at it (although yet to put the new oil in, thought id run some old shitty oil to clean the block again);
Image

back on the stands again; (got pepperpots on the front due to the coppers defecting me for bald tyres haha)
Image

New fuel pump, then added a steel fuel filter instead of the shitty plastic one;
Image

then the meeting of the sickmars;
Image

also;
- got NEW King Springs (waiting for them to be posted.)
- Brakes yet to go in! (thought i may aswell do all in the one hit, aka brakes, springs and shocks.)
- NEW NOS clutch cable, was bidding on ebay, then discussed with my bro, he then told me he has like 10 haha, so getting one for free, may even buy one for a spare :) :thumpsup: (just need to get out and get it!)
- Also went back to the exhaust shop and had an extra brace put on the zorst. Also put a flange between the extractors and the zorst so when changing engines i don't have dramas again, also will also help when i plan on painting the extractors again and making shit pretty.
- Also getting new Monroe Shocks sometime this week if funds are good.

Then;
- NEW fuel lines/radiator hoses etc, also fix this DAMN WIRING!
- quoted all the rust and the ding in the rear and the car STRAIGHT at a local panel beater, $1066.56... so thats on the horizon...
- then hopefully if nothing else goes wrong.... PAINT... (just to save troubles though, might get a NEW alternator/starter and shit yet... possibly even look at a better engine yet again...???? :wut: )

Then i have the task of getting the charger running, and changing my address to ACT to drive the bloody thing :)

Hoping to have the car completed within the year if everything goes well... (H)
