LOL, I knew you would have read it Shuggy.
I bought them already made up astronturbo77. They were made up for a race car and were no longer needed, I think thats how the story goes. Not sure who actually made them, sorry.

I have just noticed that this thread has been going for almost a year now, not as long as I have been building the coupe but long enough.
Anyway, the reason for my visit is these :) :) :)
Image

I stopped on the way home from work to find out how much and if I order them how long. They guy ask's all the questions and off he goes to call Kings and find out. Comes back and says "some guy ordered almost exactly what you want about 6 months ago and never came back, only difference is they are 250lb not 275lb like you asked for, but the boss says $200 and they are yours" I pulled my wallet out and off I went a happy chappy.

For those interested they are 60mm ID, 250mm long and 250lb

Before I comit $177.87 plus potage does anyone know if these are okay? I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be and the guy has a heap of good feed back so I think they should be okay. The non slotted rotors are only $112, are the slots worth $60 for a road car seeing the odd hill climb and track day?

On it's wheels for the first time in ages. It is sitting pretty low considering it has no running gear at all. But the coil overs are about 3/4 the way down and can go up about 3 inches.

Cleaned out the inside while I was in the shed and started fitting the carpet. Not quite finished yet but looking good.

Now I still gotta get my seats done and find a dash somewhere, mine was so cracked it actually broke in 2 bits when I took it out

Yeah mate, it is just about there. Hoping to be signed of by the Dr's at the end of April.
The Coupe is coming along slowly, annoyingly slowly at times but bills gotta get paid first, lol. I have my fingers crossed that it will be up and running before Xmas this year.
That reminds me, I fitted my muffler today, and it is the reason I have a fuel cell. BRB with pics

Okay guys I need help to decide on how my wheels will look. So I have two options and I can't decide which I like more.

Black with chrome trim, red wheel nuts and the Galant/Sigma centre cap. These will probably get a red stripe on the tyre

Image

Or red with chrome trim and a Galant hub cap. These will get a white stripe on the tyre

Image

Both

What would a combination of both ideas look like?
Red rim and Sigma centre cap?

I think for either suggestion, remove those centres from the outers and increase the amount of dish (offset) to improve their look.

Don't worry about that Dave, they are all 15x6 I am not sure of the ET but the fronts fit fine now I have my coil overs fitted.
I am planning on keeping the fronts as 6 inch (I think) just moving them out about 30mm. The rears will get re-hooped to 8 inch and come out about 50mm.
I am getting the rears done first as the front could go 8inch I reckon but it is hard to tell.
Unfortunately the biggest hoops available are 8 inch otherwise I think with the correct offest I could got 9 or maybe 10 inch on the back.
Either way they will all be altered for more dishy dish
Here are my thoughts, might even help others, ya never know.
Stock wheels/tyres were, 165/75 13 ET +20 (or 102 mm) on a 5.5in rim. Offset is approx 102 mm with a rolling diameter of 1815 mm
If I go front 15x6 then I need a ET of +10 which will give me an offset of 98 mm and a 185/55 R15 rolling dia of 1837 mm. Different but doesn't matter as it will be the front wheels not impacting on the speedo.
Then on the rear I go 15x8 with an ET of -10 will give me an offset of 103mm (very close to stock) running a 205/50 R15 (very cheap/common size) giving a rolling dia of 1843 mm.
The difference in speedo will be 1.5% faster or 98k's when reading 96.6k's.

Yes all my measurements are designed for some stretch, nothing major but the kind I like, lol.

:blah: While ranting about my car, I have been copping a bit of slack from other members about using the GTO logo, these members (while obviously perfect and beyond reproach) will be happy to know I have since redesigned my paint scheme/logo ideas and moved away from the GTO ideas. Thanks for the DIS-couragement, I am more than happy with my new ideas. :D

Nah, I really like my new plans but will be keeping them to myself until it is done :D Besides I had to strip the stripes off after the guy stuffed them up when laying them. The paint is sound but I will need to sand the clear coat back where the stripes were.
