hey mate    best of luck with the painting, you'll find once you have a rhythm its pretty easy, when i started out my main difficulty was holding up the spray gun for so long lol
what type of paint are you using btw?

thanks alot!! yeah buds it was really not that difficult,i did find the gun a bit heavy at times especially holding it constantly doing the roof..
im using the original paint code on the car but with 2pack paint.

ok guys after some painfull moments trying to get an oven, ive decided to paint the car in the garage.couldnt wait any longer!
as a beginer i found it pretty hard holding the gun up for so long doing the roof but finally got the havng of it.i was actually quite easy and the paint come up soo bloody good, well heaps better than what it used to look like.i noticed ive missed a few tiny dents and got some very short small runs on the left hand quarter but apart from that it came up awsome..nothing a little rub back and polish wont fix!! ive just painted the shell and engine bay for now,and wait for it to drys properly.
as some of yous know that painting a car in the garage needs to be dust free at least 20-25*c
as for me the garage was pretty cold,i managed to get most of the dust away and being just my luck, the guy i got the paint off gave me standard hardner not fast drying so it kinda gives the garage time to throw dust my car as its drying.anyway the car come up beautiful,i think anyway! so here are some pics ive taken...
ok so this is the engine bay and front end before.......

Looks like it's coming together nicely (and no, I'm not going to comment on the pic quality). But if you're going to do spraying in the future, use newspaper or plain brown paper for masking up- it will help cut down overspray and won't flake everywhere when you peel it off. Keeping the doors fitted will ensure the paint finish is consistent. But I understand why they're off- it's a bastard trying to work around them in a confined space. Otherwise AWESOME, their's nothing like saying it's all mine

cheers buds, and yeah i chose to put the paper masking on but my freind told me that the plastic is better as it has static and holds the overspray on.but i know exactly what you mean by the overspray flaking off.haha it bloody happened!
yeah i would have love to leave the doors on but like you said its hard getting around and inside the inner jams..
i love it and cant wait to hit these melbourne streets and tear SH@# up..

There's a set of FR17's FS over on AE86DC atm for $3.5k, they're in Penrith though.
4x114.3, just like 99% of 4-stud RWD Japanese cars. Sigma's included

No worries
17's would look better than 19's IMO (hell, the car's barely big enough to pull off 16's well), but it's your car :)

We have two very different views on what looks good man, asking me if 18's would look good on a Sigma is like asking a Holden man to drive a Ford for the rest of his life
If it was my car it'd be getting 15x8 and 8.5 SSR Mk. III's with 195/50's so I could go properly low without tucking rim/hacking the car up. Which is something you can't do on big wheels :)

Anyway, it'll be tidy whichever way you go. Props for getting in and painting it yourself, looks good for a first (?) try :)
