JiP - The New Guy

Post by JiP »

Hey guys just came across this site last night and am quite excited to be here. I found myself a Galant by accident and have found the want to fix it up. You don't see these cars often on the roads which makes me want to keep it even more.
All my other cars are 197x's Corollas which I have been playing with for a few years. I had the whole collection, Sedan, Hardtop, Liftback (Rare), Wagon & Panelvan, but have begun selling them off. I love the 70's and wish I could have been born then lOl
Anyway happy to be here and I hope to learn alot more from this site as my knowledge is dismal.
Here are a few pics of when I got it (After I cleaned it up)...

Welcome to the site...
You've got the best model you can buy you know... a GC (I'm not biased at all)
Looks tidy.. was this an ebay buy?
I think I remember seeing it on there..

Na not at all. I was trying to sell it on carsales after I bought it as I needed cash so I marked the price up tho deep down I wanted to keep it. Was a hard 3 months but I sold 3 of my other cars and plenty of parts. I plan on keeping it now. I ended up dropping my price in the end and now keep getting offers. I still have 8 cars tho so I should get that down to 6 by the end of Jan.

They all needed work in one way or another. Plus I decided I didn't want to be still doing up all these cars when I turn 30. (Still ages away I know)
One was sold cause I needed a reliable daily and I couldn't afford to miss so much work while having to repair it.
The rare one was impossible to find parts for. No one makes rubbers for it and its the only one that looks NOTHING like the others.
The wagon and panelvan were sold cause I bought myself a late model Liberty Wagon. Does the same job but better. No rust, doesn't need painting and fits more in it. Oh and it has balls too.
I also had an early coupe that i sold as I needed the cash. I've become sick and stopped working 4 months back so the sale of all my cars and parts (engines, gearboxes & several sets of twin carbies) have been paying bills.
But anyway I've forced myself back to work this past month so thats why I haven't sold the Galant. So I'm hoping things get better from here.
