newbie from s/e suburbs

Post by S1NS »

hey all im jodie i thought i would share my story on how i got my ( Repco yellow) GH Wags
I started doing my app in light vechile mechnics when i was 16, my boss had a Gh yellow sigma wagon sitting out the front not doing anything . i asked him why it was sitting around collecting rust, he told me his dad owned the car before he passed and only drove it to the shops on pension day and before he owend it we believe that that it had one owner before him. My boss didnt have the heart to sell it or drive it at the time , So my manger Trent took the sigma gave it a tune up, a wash, cut n polished her and got the windows tinted and drove it bak to work and my boss was so happy to see her bak to her former glory . Eventlly my boss sold the wags to trent and myself
we used as a work car for the 2 years we where there. it has a bad habbit of blowing a head gasket or something major just before rego is due which has been a freaky thing for the last 5 years we owned the wags and now we are pepared for it .The wags is a realable car i dove from s/e subarbs to lake entrance then up to mildura in 35deg weather over 3 days the auto at the time was leaking which i was aware of but didnt relize it was bad , i drove ova 3,000km with no tranny oil and it survied and i didnt stuff the tranny either it just need a service lol .

This is what ben happing over the last 5 years mechnic wise

The oringal aston 2.6lmotor i still have it has been reco but due to a weak block it cracked we got it welded but it only hung on for so many years :)388,000kms all up
it had the head done as well
it has nolathan bushes and rubbers
lukey extractors bigger exaust
high performace starter motor and dizzy
it has 17inch rims but have been takn off
the carby has been tuned up to peform better
the Tranny has been serviced and reco about 3 years ago

it has a little bit of rust manily on the gaurds and one door

it still has the oringal interior no major rips or tears
tinted windows and a shitty sony expolde cd player ( i will be changing that soon )

just over the last few days i have put in a reco 2.6l astron motor in it which went smooth not any major headaches and it kicked over beatifully and drove well just got some more tinkering before i start driving it again .

Hi Jodie and welcome to the site. Sounds like the wagon was a cherished car before you got and nothing has changed. I bet you know your way backwards around an Astron by now, lol
Jump into the members rides section and chuck up some pics of the wagon.
This is how;
