Hi, I'm Andrew. I'm 19 and live in Modbury North, Adelaide. I found this site through Wikipedia of all places. I was pleasantly surprised at the community here, and the passion and interest in these cars. I was also somewhat excited when I noticed one of the cars in the site's banner (the third in from the left). I've driven past it many times on North East Road, and often check to see if it's there. Always looks great! I drive an '86 Ford Laser, but that's not what I'm here for obviously.
For as long as I can remember, our family has had an old Sigma sitting in the backyard of our shack. It's a 2.6L, and the luxury model ("SE", I think).

I've written a fair amount about it, but I'm not sure if I should put it here or in the member's rides section... I figure this post would be more of an introduction of myself. I love cars, I love music, I play guitar. My dad is a mechanic, so I guess that's where I get the love for cars. I don't really have much hands-on experience with cars unfortunately, but thats something I'm hoping to change in the future. I'm looking to but a project car, though finances are looking shaky at the moment, so that's put the brakes on that for the time being. Not that that's stopped me looking!

I hope I can make the cruise on the 30th, I only just missed out on the last one.

Tight budgets are no sweat with most of the cars on this site, until you start modifying them to go fast.
What sort of project are you after, another Sigma?

Anything you buy can be made look good with time $$$ and a little bit of taste.

Thanks! I'm looking for something manual and preferably rear-wheel drive, and with a decent engine. Something a little out of the ordinary would be good, too. Cars I've been looking out for are stuff like the earlier (ideally series 2) RX-7s, 2L Escorts, early model Celicas (from the 70s), Corollas, etc. Now I'm starting to look at Sigmas, Scorpions, Galants, Cressidas, Datsuns, etc. Something my dad and I can have fun building and driving.

Thanks! I think this car will most likely keep the flames, I might even add a little detail here and there if the mood strikes me. I'm somewhat starting to regret the giant white flames down the sides as they do stand out a lot. This car hasn't been registered for years, so it doesn't really see any action on the roads anyway. Future cars may be flamed, depending on their style, but it will be much more professional than the house paint, brush and masking tape I used here, that's for sure!

You said it right there mate, its all about enjoying and sharing the fun with your family and friends.
And if you can spend that time with, and learn from your Dad, all the better.
I think that is where alot of guys started out

Exactly! I'm really looking forward to it, not to mention spending time here too.

Sorry, but the hubcaps will most likely stay until I can find suitable replacements :p
