dvsfin's story/rides
Re: dvsfin's story/rides
I am not sure of any import wreckers in your area but check out these guys, they have some awesome wheels.

Re: dvsfin's story/rides
I'd go 15's, I think they'd suit the car better and not have as much of the rollerskate effect.
Looking really good mate, keen to see how it turns out
Edit: Seeing as you're in Sydney, headf over to Otomoto and have a look at what they have. They've normally got a fair few sets of cheap secondhand Jap wheels, as they bring containers full over from J-land every few months

I have 15's on it at the moment and they are a little too small for my liking, 16's would be perfect

I don't know how you are off for coin, but maybe we can organise a go kart outing to coincide with this? The local boys have mentioned getting another one happening a few times now.
So that would probably back to mine for a beer or 2 and a BBQ to go with it.
Interested?

I've been keeping an eye on Otomoto's website lately. They seem to get old school Japanese wheels in pretty regularly. Theyre in north parramatta too.

How did I miss the pics of those wheels?
I'll be curious what they look like on the car?
What sizes/offsets do they come in?
And what front struts are you running? GH Sigma ones?

I am still trying to figure out the brake master cylinder aswell as the clutch master cylinder, my dad can get me wilwood gear so I am hoping to find something in their range that is usable in this application.

Re: dvsfin's story/rides
was it you i was talking to about my brake setup? those wheels are perfect but wow they are expensive from 2500... it dont say about offset available though... maybe you can order custom offset?
BUILT NOT BROUGHT BY ALGIE.
Re: dvsfin's story/rides
it says on there somewhere about the offset, basically any offset you want.
yea I was the one asking about your brake setup before, hence the XA hubs
I came to the conclusion that wheels in the correct size are few and far between so I jumped straight into custom wheels lol
I found that pre au falcon wheels will fit, though finding the right size proves to be a tad difficult in something other then ford replica wheels

There is no way 16x8 +0's would fit under GC/GD Galant front guards using GH Sigma Struts.webby wrote:CCW's?

It would have to be more like 18x8 +20 or at least +10's
I know 77galant v6 is running 15x8 +0 but he is using GJ struts. That gives him extra room.

Yeah I was basing that on 77galantv6's car. Cheers for clearing that up Dave

Yeah, I think a lot of members think they can run that size offset rims on their Galant's after seeing 77galantv6's car. I tried his rims on my Galant wagon (that has standard Galant struts) and they stuck out about 25mm.webby wrote:Yeah I was basing that on 77galantv6's car. Cheers for clearing that up Dave
Hows your steering lock with that? I know you've lengthened you lower control arms, does that help the steering lock?astronturbo77 wrote: they will fit under my lancer guards with flares

I love those wheels, they do them in 4 stud too
starting at $2300
This is a 15x8 +-0 offset on my hardtop with GH struts converted to coilovers.

With more stretched tyres and adjustable camber tops they could work
