Just got back from Go-Karting on the Newcastle mini cruise.
Turned out to be a photo shot for the cars.
Got some nice shots of the cars, some will be put on here soon I'm sure...

As it turned out I wasn't the fastest on the nite. Was beaten by local random

But I was the fastest out of the SG members that showed. I told 'em, they wouldn't listen.....

Had a great time. This will happen again I'm sure....

Had the slowest car though  , 2L auto GE sigma (PROSSER) pulled away from me. But I got mine back on the track....

I told them to give you the tricked up Karts Dave, because we felt sorry for you....

No you did well mate!
Actually we were all pretty close, except for that freaky Local guy!!!

I had some good competitive laps with Chris F, And Dean was in the mix with us too!

I definitely had fun!

Now the biggest problem is i hadnt realised just how badly my car actually handles!!!
I must have adjusted my driving to babying it everywhere through corners and driving it to ITS capabilities...

The first decent corner i came too i chucked it in, thinking i was still driving the kart, and the front end understeered Badly and scared the crap out of me!!!

Then i got on the power in 3rd half way through a round about and nearly had a big off... Used to the sluggish pick up from the karts lol

I will definitely be doing my front suspension soon!!

Head down arse up, and that Sigma will look sweet.
Might want to look at that timing chain first though. and you were giving the old thing heaps going to racing, so I can just imagine what you were doing after

The Galant seemed to handle like crap afterwards too.
Your flogging a dead horse if you're trying to get it to handle like a Go-Kart Dan....
Thanks for asking for faster Karts for me
As for the Random local, in the third race I held onto him the whole way just about. He told me after he thought I was going to take him. Kart 12 was a lot faster then 2. Wish I had it for all 3 races not just the third.
Had to laugh though. We turn up at the track and Dan rips off his shirt to reveal another shirt he had underneath saying ' I AM THE STIG'
You're right though everyone was quick, and all very hard to overtake after losing time by being drilled into a wall
I don't think hairpins are meant to be taken with 3 Karts side by side....... Dan

Can't wait for the 6th of December. It'll be a good day.

A few shots of the night...
Image
Note Dan, 2nd row on the right. I AM THE STIG shirt.....

Image
We'll have to plan this better next time. Everyone wore either white or black shirts. Hard to tell who was who. The local Random was the guy with the red pants.... Note: in front

Image
The STIG! (Dan)

Image
Battle Scars. Probably better to use the brake to stop, not your leg Dean..... (this is what you get for being too tall, front tyre rub)

Image
What happened here Dean?

Image
Just one of the photos from the start of the night. Thanks for the location Dean.

Thanks to Fergus for taking photos of the Night. It's gotta suck to only be 10 and too small to drive.
Fergus did some videoing but unfortunately no good stacks caught on it.

I burn the footage on discs and pass them on to who came. If I don't see you before the 6th, I'll have them then.

that into the wall shot was from pete. basically shoved me into it. hence why he was stuck in the wall too haha

that leg shot is a classic. hurt like hell in the shower when i got home!
will scar up nicely lol.

Prosser had a very nice off on the way home.
me and pete both said it was going to happen and sure enough
understeer into a corner and not enough room to pull the old boat up
crasheds into a gutter with minimal damage - the only thing that came off the car was the dress peice on the rim.

was deffinately a great night.

Dan, pete still cant get the smile off his face from taking a ride in the lancer.
he is thinking about getting an old car now just so he can come cruising hahah

I think they were almost ready to kick us out after the 2nd race. The amount of carnage was unbelievable. Trying to go 3 wide probably wasn't the best idea. Not to mention how many times they had to stop us to fix the karts :)

Glad to hear no damage Sam!!

Haha that Stig shirt worked well

Yeah i think we would have to dress like the Wiggles to stand out better next time lol

The only thing bad about going 3 deep into that corner, was i came off worst after you two put the squeeze on, and i ended up in the wall HAHA

Dan, Dave and Sam - Pete said he will burn all the images onto a disc in high resolution
so they can be blown up and printed.
he will put all the images on the one disc.

Is anyone else sore?
i can barely move my shoulders.
