sorry yes a hatchback I meant. This one was originally beige but he resprayed it bright yellow. This is his second one. The first one, my self, the guy with the 240Z and he made a day trip down to Melbourne and back to pick a very badly rusted one. Then a few months later he picked this one up (transported this time) from Adelaide. He's on Japanese Nostalgic Cars as Dirty Deeds, which is what he calls his rally team.

OK 23rd or 30th of May, anyone got a preference or should we still go ahead with the 16th. Remember 16th means no pics from ffire
I think ffire in attendance is worth it, so I'm more keen on the 23rd or 30th if it suits ffire.

We really need to finalise something here.
Needing to get some opinions so I can get finished details up.
And some opinions on date and maybe a start time?
Majority rules so if you don't comment you wont get a say...

Can I get some feedback so this can happen?

Thanks for the input Dan.
Does anyone have a problem with the dates suggested?
If no responses are made I'll just go ahead and organise it for when it suits me...

Im too lazy to look up those dates... lol
But make it a weekend that has no major significance
Valentines day, Mothers Day, The footy finals, the local racing finals... whatever.
People have other priorities they want, or need to do.
So if you want high attendance, try to find a weekend with nothing else on (yeah i know its hard)

Just make it weekends that have no major events on

OK so 23rd of May?

I'll post a cruise post in a week if no one has a problem with it? I thought there would have been more interest in it then what there has been so far.

This will also be posted on JNC (Japanese Nostalgic Car) and I will also put it on my Cardomain page. Any suggestions for anywhere else? I"ll put it on the Classic Colt site too.

Hey Guys havent been on in a while (uni takes preference unfortunaly)
If u have it on the 23rd I might be able to get some more lancers and possibly a starion from my car club.....the club is running a Motorkhana event on Sunday 30th so that is definately out for me (and us) if its the 30th.

Thanks for getting the ball rolling again Dave.

Just personally I think it might take away from our cars a bit if there are too many other makes there (namely Datsuns because some people seriously do them up and our original beasts might be shunned a little). But we are out there to get recognised so it might be better.

Cheers Matt

ps i may or may not have the Brown Rally GC then....had some guy offer to buy it off me for $2K at the servo the other day so considering selling it.....but time will tell (i might just get lazy and keep it lol)
'75 GC daily (slowly dying)
'80 LC 2.6L rally car (generally something broken until 2 weeks before an event)
'71 GA 2.6 Turbo project (i only wanted the diff and got another project)

I will let my dad know about it so he can bring his GC hardtop. He also knows a bloke that just recently bought a GTO from NZ so will let him know about it as well. Wish I had the LA up and running!

With a bit of luck I'll be there too with the Sigma wagon, AKA the COW.
It definitely won't be the diamond in the rough, it'll be the rough.
Guaranteed to make every other car look good in comparison.

My Scorpion would probably make your Sigma look like a Ferrari
I know I've been saying this for the last couple of cruises, but I'll come if I can
Depends on whether I can save enough money to sort a timing chain tensioner along with fuel money.

Sounds like an awesome idea to me! And almost the date, too.

If it goes well, should do it once a year or something? I can't make it this year, but if it were to happen again I'd gladly bring my car along!

Looking fwd to the Parra cruise, rain hail or shine. Ive got an unbrella, rain coat and NRMA roadside assistance paid up ,so Im ready to go. In fact we will have a support vehicle tommorow as the missus and kids are following along in the family car as well.
The rain is making it hard to give the siggie the traditional pre-cruise polish up though.
See ya's tommorow.

I was just wondering if it might be a good idea if a few people bring a tarp with some tent polls with them in case it rain?
I've got a small tarp and some tent polls hiding some where that I could bring.

What's the thoughts of the people coming?
Do we go ahead even if it is raining?

I've just looked at Google maps and there is at least 4 covered areas that we can use. We will need to get them early (this park is very popular). The tarp sounds like a good idea Nath76LA, (just incase we can't get a covered area). One good point is, if it is raining a bit less people will be at the park, so the chances of getting a covered area are good.

The covered area I am aiming for is near the Pitt/ Macquarie St entrance. If you come in that way turn left (it's only one way so you can't go wrong) and just up the small rise a bit on the right. It's at the first side street on the right in the park from that entrance. It's a concrete rotunda, with round topped arches, you can't miss it. It's a bit away from the popular bits too, so we should be able to park together more easily.
This may change on the day, someone may already have it. But that's the plan.

It doesn't look like there are BBQ's there. I don't know what everyone's doing for lunch. It will be BYO or there is a cafe in the park (but I'm not sure of their operating times so I wouldn't rely on it). A small gas cooker or portable BBQ might be an idea or a packed lunch. And some fold up chairs perhaps?

Possibly abit late,
sorry to jump in at the last minute,
But would be good to have someone bring a BBQ and buy some Snags Bread rolls, and sauce,
and and esky full of cans.
and just a couple of bucks a pop??

Or just leave it for everyone to BYO

Weather check.

It 6:24 I just looked outside I see plenty of Blue sky here in Lake Macquarie/ Newcastle. It's all looking good for this end.

I've got members telling me to go a head even if it's raining. Is a Sydney member prepared to get to the park a bit early and reserve the concrete Rotunda for us so it doesn't matter if it rains at all?

Anyone got a weather check for Sydney?
