[VIC] Hanging Rock Classic Car Show 9th Feb 2014

As in previous years trying to organise good turn out for the annual 'Picnic @ Hanging Rock' Classic Car show.

Open to all cars 25 years and older, Please be aware that cars need not be 'concourse' as is as much about getting older cars and there owners together in one location to share their motoring passion. Classic Race / Rally Cars also welcome.

In previous years there's been in excess of 2000 cars in attendance, Aussie, American, European & Jap all present.

Coordinating this meet in association with AUStarion forum. There will be central meeting spot for all Mitsubishi's attending to travel in convoy to location so that we're all grouped together.

Look forward to meeting some of the Sigma-Galant forum community there.

lol I was just about to post this! Yes I'll be there with my golden 1978 Sigma SE. I would love to meet up and park together with other old Mitsubishis so please confirm and let me know where to meet you guys.

will publish meeting location about week out from event, will be same location that we've used in previous years.

Hoping to get a few more sigma -galant forum members to attend, already got a number of Starions coming, which is great.

Your GTO is awesome! Only seen it in photos would love to see in the flesh, that thing is real head turner and unique, If I was voting and from what I've seen this car could win best in show!!!

Hi ShelbyGTO,

Your GTO looks pretty clean, as you describe it may not be a 'show car' but at this event is mainly attended by cars that have been driven there under their own power, very few if any 'show cars' trailered in. Just about everything there is streetable/registered. As you described it's different and that will attract a fair bit of attention.

Going off interest received which includes Bag-Sig and yourself we should be able to get the biggest turn out of Mitsubishi yet. I believe there are 5-6 Starions attending also which includes a couple of widebodies so should be a really good turn out.

Will post early next week meet up details as to ensure we are all located together.

Details for 2014 meeting place, this will ensure we are grouped together at the show.

Direction to meeting point are as follows:

Meeting time is 8am in Romsey for 8:15am departure.

Directions to Romsey:

Heading out of Melbourne , travel on Tullamarine Freeway as if you were heading to Melbourne Airport .

Continue past Airport following directions to Sunbury on Sunbury Rd (C743)
(Tullamarine Freeway becomes Sunbury Rd behind Airport) Continue through Bulla on the C743

Just before Sunbury turn right at roundabout onto the Melbourne - Lancefield Rd (Signpost: C325 Lancefield).

Continue up Melbourne - Lancefield Rd until you reach Romsey.

Drive into Romsey and at the Mitre 10 Hardware Turn left in Barry St (Signpost: Woodend A79 To Calder Fwy)

Meeting point will be on Barry St 150m from the Mitre 10, on the Left.

Looks like we'll have some great cars, great weather and a great event! I really can't wait, I've been dreaming in taking my Sigma to this for the last 5 years and now the Sigma is finally finished!

Please be advised that this event has currently become postponed due to extreme weather conditions/high fire hazard

There is a good show on at Lang Lang on the same day if you were still planning on showing your wheels off!!!

Aw sad but fair enough. Hopefully when it does happen the weather will be better.

Actually I just checked the weather forecast again for the Macedon region and the forecast for Sunday has changed http://www.weatherzone.com.au/vic/central/macedon. Before they were saying that Sunday was expected to have temperatures in the high 30s and now it's been changed to a maximum of around 31! Looks like Saturday will be the scorcher and Sunday will be cooler and with more clouds and a late change/showers.

It will be interesting to see if they will bring the event back on the 9th or still keep it postponed.
