Commodore front inserts

Post by J-T9959 »

Can any one tell me the size of the VB-VP commodore insert size
i need the body lenght and dia.

Ive read they fit, from the old site with no mods but
Ive got two struts and one set off GH Scorpion and the other set
is off a GH sigma and the inserts are different sizes by 15mm.

Cheers Jay

I've got commy bilsteins in GH sigma struts so that should be the go, they do bolt straight in without mods.

I know that scorp struts are different but I just don't know how.

I'm pulling my struts out tomorrow to give them a bit of a service so I'll get some measurements then and post em up..

Thanks mbrallying
I would have used the sigma strut but the pitting was to much after
cutting the spring retainer off and move them up to fit my wheels.

Measurements would be great.

I've got a pair of brand new Koni Red adjustable shox (Part No. 86 2076SP1) to suit VB~VP to go into my Starion soon.
The body diameter is 44mm, & 413mm long. (But can be shortened by 5mm by removing the tit off the bottom). If they fit, I'll let you know. 8-)

kno this is prob old topic
but i was wanting to get pedders extreme xa coil overs
for my 85 gsr siggy, then told me next day cant be done,
fair enough but why give me the brochure then? lol
which was a bummer cos they were exactly the thing i was looking for
anyway they said they could put the koni reds 86 2076SP1(the ones u quoted above)

couldnt find much info on them
but read that the koni reds are only adjustable off the car
is this correct?
and the yellows are adjustable on car

also saw some other adjustable coil overs- racing logic
but prob cant be done same deal as the pedders i imagine - SIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGH

anyway did u end up getting the konis
86 2076SP1

anygood?

thanks for your time

You are able to put koni coils overs.

I was talking to the bloke at Jim Hunter suspension in Blacktown NSW.
who said he can do it.
$1000-1100 (as couple of years back though)
