Dumb gearbox question .....

..... what's the shift pattern on a Sigma 5-speed ?? Is reverse below 5th, or next to 1st or 2nd gear ?

I had a GE Sigma 20 years ago, but those brain cells must have died ......

It's below 5th in both of mine.

Isn't it the borgwarner boxes that have reverse next to 1st and 2nd?

Jap 5spd - below 5th
BW - next to 1st

Next question ..... does a BW box bolt up to a 4G32, or just the Jap boxes ?

a narrowblock b/w box will, youll need a matching clutch plate and the driveshaft yoke spline is different too
pretty sure they only came with jap boxes fitted from factory? in the lancers and galants anyway

I've never seen a narrow block Borg Warner 5 speed, did they make them? If so what did they come out in, I'll make sure I never buy one.

the borgwarner boxes dont fit in the tunnel correctly without having them angled down too far and mucking around with the crossmember.

I thought the BW boxes were more common than Jap ones in the early 2l Sigmas ?

i had a narrow block borg warner 5 speed, it came out of a 2l gj wagon.. i donated it to paddles... apparently sigma turbos use a borg warner, and theyre all 2l
