set your engine to top dead centre
set cam so that no.4 is rocking no.1 fireing and put the dowel
into the top gear if it doesnt line up perfect rotate the sprocket
NOT THE CAM JUST THE SPROCKET untill you find a hole to line up
if any cam movement has to be made retard the cam
hope this helps

its a wide block 2.6 scorpy motor that is all band new apart from the crank lol i knew i should have got a grind on it as when i striped it it had a spun bearing on no 2 but it miked up ok so i just linished it lol but these things happen so im just going to strip it down get the crank ground and knife edge balanced so on then put it all back togeather lol

mate i would check the rod isnt loose on bearing!
probably get all 4 closed and honed its fairly common
in a high kays engine
thats if you mic'd the crank and bearing

yer thanks stealth il have a look at that when i strip it again as for the rods i think il throw a set of i beams in it and i might drill it to 40 thow now and take 20 more of the block as when it was running i was still not that happy with the power lol.
oh btw mate what type of carby would you recomend to use on it i was thinking maybe inject it but the whole wiring side of things gets messy for me lol

mate a couple of things
i wouldnt worry about i-beams there a waste of cash
for the astron get your ones
close and honed
polished ,remove all markings and lighted a bit
shot peened and arp bolts and your good
i ran one like that but NO arp bolts at 32psi through
a gt42r made 410hp no rod problems
as for a carby well im undecided on that at the monment
im using a 650 vac second holley but im just about to try
a make a mainifold for 4 1/3/4 hif-44 su's (if it fits length ways?)
if not it will be two of
but the common route to follw is twin 45 webers but there not
big enough so
with the money you save on i beam rods buy a megasquirt
but hay thats my two cents

if the whole bottem end is shot and you just built it the big question
is why is it shot
dont take this the wrong way but did you remove the balance shafts
if so did you block the oil feeds to the balance shafts?
what sort of oil pressure did it have?
there has to be something fairly major to write off every bearing so look
carefully

yer i did remove the balance shafts but i put in the solid bearing thing to block the hole of . the oil presure was 65 to 90 45 at low idle . if was no 2 again so i think it may have what you said about the rod problem as for the rest of them they are just from no oil at 5 grand lol it happend mid skid and i couldnt see the oil gaudge so it got about 30 sec run with no oil presure . worst part it theres a comp on friday nite that i need to run in lol so im going to pinch the motor out of my scorp and stick in it the skidder for the nite

yeah no oil pressure will do that makes sense now
mate you should have a spare engine
you can get magna bottem ends for next to nothing
