How much boost for computer?
Hey guys can standard magna computers handle boost? (TP injection)
If so how much?

I'm not sure how the TP injections works, is it MAF or MAP? if MAP it is likely to only be either a 1bar or 1.5 bar sensor - and if thats the case; 1bar = 0 boost, 1.5bar = 7psi.
If its MAF based, well it depends at which point the MAF maxes on airflow, but would probably be able to run mild boost.
Got any links to workshop manuals/part numbers?

as in its from a TP magna injection setup.
Do they have a 1 or 1.5bar sensor standard? Or do i have to put one in?

Yeah i got that, but what I meant was I dont know if the TP magna useses a MAF or a MAP sensor.
Thus my question.
My guess is MAP and only a 1Bar sensor as only ever designed to run ATMO and done on the cheap. But I may be wrong

I was pretty sure the TP Magnas were MAF like the TR/TS Magnas. I have read something about the TR/TS computer being able to handle 4-8PSI or something, but I am not too sure about it. Another option is to run a piggy back ECU.

I tried a turbo with the std efi system, ITS NOT TUNED FOR IT.
it ran EXTREMELY lean. if you want a grenade try it, otherwise go aftermarket.
the std injectors cant supply enough fuel for more than approx 4 psi either...

nope, i did not.
i cant imagine that would run well, if at all, as it has no MAP sensor it would have no idea how much fuel to put in as it would be running on a factory set value for that RPM point.

It would idle without the AFM connected but it'd be a pig when the throttle was opened.

Cheers , its just that that I have my TR EFI 2.6 conversion running without the AFM ( and o2 sensor)connected cos its running lean (due to the 2.6 Starion cam we think).Billsy wrote:nope, i did not.

Its actually running very well,- power is down and the only other downside is she uses about 16L/100km.Been disconnected for 6 months!.
Was thinking may be rich enough for turbo?.

lol, they must have programmed a fairly crude tune into it then from factory
it wont be good with boost though, youll get bad results or damage the engine.
