Soon I'll be needing to get my Dell'Orto tuned and re-jetted. Does anyone have a recommendation for someone in SA that can do this?

Are you wanting to have a go at this your self?
Single or twin? Assuming side draught?

If so, I can recommend some material for you to read (books) and euro carb know there stuff for getting a starting point with the jetting, chokes.

Nick.

What I have is a single side draft Dell'Orto DLHA 40 on a 2.0L Astron 80 with extractors and mild street cam. I was thinking about doing it myself, but also thinking it might be worth paying someone to do it properly.

I am north of the city, but the Lancer LC this engine is in, it is just outside of the city to the east. The carbie has been recently been rebuilt, and was on a 2.0L Sigma Wagon. It ran ok, but apparently had a flat spot. It should be good enough to drive it there to get done.

A single 40 is going to be maxed out on a 2lt, but i guess tune it low and should be right for daily duties.
-Do you know what is in it at the moment?
-choke size, main jet, pump jet, idle jet?

Also, what letter is stamped after DHLA40_ ?

I am not too sure what the jets are at the moment, but it was off a twin set off a Alfa Romeo 2.0L. I don't have the carbie with me at the moment, but will have a look at what is when I see it next.

this was my first thought, id be aiming for a single 45, or twin 40's to get the most out of your other mods

Hey Cottee's, I have a twin side draught manifold you can have for cheap. Might be a good way to go twins, I really think the 2.0 will struggle on a single 40mm. My old man used to rally back in the day and he reckons the Datsun 1600's used to run twin 40's
Give me a call if you are interested.

^^^ widely acknowledged as the best in Adelaide.
And when they are too busy, they'll send you around the corner to Specialty Tuning
Unit 26 / 788 Marion Rd, Marion, SA 5043
ph 8298 6377

I've used both these firms, and have nothing but praise for the rebuilds they've done on various carbies for various cars ovber the years
