For pure sound, I'd go the twins.
Just for the record: My old GB galant got better fuel economy with the twins than with a single carb. It was a massive difference. But my wagon is worse

.
But it's not really set up for them.
And for originality (as in keeping original) I'd go the twins.....

My GH Sigma has a basically standard 2.6 except for the carbs.
Last week it had a 34ADM Webber from a Falcon on it. The carby itself had issues so have removed it. When i could get it working OK it had heaps of power and revved out with no problems. Driven gently it also had good fuel economy.
I was having problems with it though so i removed it in favour of a set of twin downdraft solex's. These don't have as much power, but they probably need bigger jets. They were originally designed for the 2.0 litre Astrons. The car seems to drive a lot nicer and smoother. A lot easier to drive compared to the webber which was like an on-off switch. Still gets good fuel economy, and they look cooler too.
Probably not the best review as i've only used each setup for a couple of days, but i would have no hesitation in recommending either setup over the factory single setup. Both setups with a good tune to suit the engine would be a big improvement over standard.
