the bigger the rear a/r, the later its gonna come on boost mate.

the turbo size really depends on what you wanna do with the car.. cruise/daily or really lean on it

.63 was the factory a/r, and its a pretty good spot for everyday driving/cruising.
my last turbo was 1.06 rear, and boost hit late (3800), but it hit hard :P
my new turbo is .84 so it will come on earlier than the 1.06 but later than the .63
hopefully, it comes around 3k

i had a turbo 2.6 with a .48 rear and it was on boost pretty much from idle (1200), but it dropped off bad at 4500

also, the t3/t4 you have mentioned sounds like one of the cheapo ebay pieces of shit... if it is, dont go there
seriously, save some coin, and buy a decent branded turbo - Garrett is the go, if ya got the coin.
there are some lesser brands around, like my master power (yeah it sounds cheap and chinese, that was my 1st thought )
that are of good quality and good reputation.. it would be worth it in the end, take a bit longer, get a decent turbo.

I second that, depends what you want, But if its an 8psi setyup like you say im guessing a smaller streetable setup is the way to go.
i know the yanks do very well, with a 20G mits turbo setup on there 2.6 starions.
But i assume you have a std sigma turbo manifold? might as well take advantage of the split paulse setup.

I run a 60-1 in a .7 houseing with a P-trim 1.00 ar hot side, boost is all in by 3k (22psi) But its still a little lagy. cant just nail in when croozin down freeway at 3000rpm, unless you dont mind waiting a few seconds, drop it back a gear and the car goes sideways pretty fast.
