Post by Ron75 »

Hi ppl
i am considering dropping a 4g63 N/A into a gc galant , Will this be a big or fairly somple conversion ?
i will use factory computer and wireing harness
well the engine for the galant will either be 4g63 if is a not so difficult job or a 4g54
thanks in advance :)

Some info for when your finances get a little better.

It's not much more difficult then a 4g54 swap apart from having to massage the firewall to fit the crank angle sensor and use some 4g63 RWD engine mounts found in Starions or L200 Utes. Swap the throttle body ends and some custom extractors.

An adapter for the water outlet can be sourced from http://forums.austarion.com/viewtopic.p ... sc&start=0 but i don't know if he still has any left over.

You also have a little more space in the engine bay due to the engine being a little shorter so radiators and thermo fans are a little easier.

Also you can find essentially the same engine in the Hyundai sonata's as well and should be able to pick up a complete sonata for about the same price as the later model magnas.
