Did a compression test on my sigma, tester reached 200 before It blew my hand off.. Thoughts

Waaahhh???! :| what kind of tester is it? Those dodgy push on ones or a screw in type?

Push on one, but test it on dads standard siggy and he can hold it on there and it gets about 135.. Mine.is 200 but Dad cannot hold it on there

I dnot know how many psi it's meant to me, what's the psi ment to be and don't be saying ratio cuz got no clue bout ratios

120 to 150 psi should be about there somewhere

So 200+ is a tad high and explains the difficulty turning it over and starting.it

Yep! That'll do it :P

I know with a 350 chev you can buy a "high torque" starter motor.. Is there such thing in our world? If there is. I'd try that

Yeah, Scorpions were fitted with a "reduction drive" starter motor. I had to get one for my Astron, killed two normal starters in like three days when I first got it running, lol
I will find a pic of a reduction drive starter

Now, before anyone says anything. No these are not pics of Astron starters but they are a perfect visual description of the difference between the two.

You can see on the reduction starter that the output shaft is offset from the electric motor.

Pretty sure these were also fitted to Canter trucks with Astrons and also the diesel trucks and utes. Not sure if a diesel starter can be used on a petrol engine though
