motor swap and cant get it runing plz help

i just swap the motor in my ge from 2l to a 2.6 out of a gj and wire it up am 90% such the wiring is rigth but there no spark what could it be i left the coil from my 2l in there because it was still good

It might depend on which distributor you are using. Does it have a little ignition box bolted to it or does it look the same as the original Astron 2000 one? The later model Astron engines had a different arrangement for the distributor and ignition module.

it got a big box cased to the distributor i think the the pick up so i when and got a o24 module and wire it up with that still no spark iam think i mite just go to the wreckers and get a distributor from a magna and see if that works

This means then that you got a different setup than the original one. I encountered this same problem when I fitted a hybrid GN Sigma and Magna 2.6 engine into my GE Sigma. The GE uses an ignition module sepparate to the distributor and the newer GK onwards Astrons have the ignition module bolted to the distributor. This meas you have to rewire the ignition. You'll notice the GE has multiple wires going into the bottom of the Bosch ignition module and the GK onwards dizzy only has two wires going into it. I cant remember exactly which wires i cut and which I used, but I had to have the wiring diagram from both the GE and the GK Sigmas so I could work out what goes where. Once wiring was done, the engine fired up straight away!

Or put the old dizzy from the 2lt in, no cutting wires etc...

i put the 2l distributor in turn the key and bang off she when thz guys heaps i just have to get a timeing ligth tommow and it will be sweet so happy its runing you guys are life savers

Make sure you take the dizzy to a specialist to get it regraphed to make the most of your 2.6

thz for telling me that i didn't know you had to re-graphed the distributor ill make a call Monday and see if any one in town does it ill have to wait a little longer to drive it dam
