Dip stick length Astron 2000

Post by revsmaximum »

Hi guys searched the forum for this but found nothing on this subject.

I recently got an 82 Sigma wagon. Nice car ( real bowling club job) good service history and pretty straight.

My problem is that the cap (about half way up the dipstick) that stops the dipstick falling to the bottom of the sump , Is missing. Which makes it very hard to know what the real oil level is( and doesnt do mutch to keep rubbish out of the oil either . Any way. I will need a new dipstick but, for now does anyone know how many millimetres the cap is from the bottom tip of the dipstick So I can get get a correct oil level reading .

Also I am not sure if this request is against the form rules ( didn't see anything about it) . Does anyone know where I could get a scan or download of a workshop manual for an 1982 sigma

Cheers

Dave

Welcome to the site mate.

Such a simple question - thought this would of been answered sooner :o
220mm from tip of dip stick to contacting face of the grommet thing.

As for manuals... yeah there were a few floating around somewhere, or you regularly see them on ebay second hand in good condition for a few dollars.

Cheers,
Nick.
