Petrol tank outlets

Post by 176bob »

G'day gang, Which of the three outlets on the petrol tank of an 1980 LC Lancer A73 with 4G32B engine and 5 speed g'box is the fuel line?
I have tried all three but no luck so far. The petrol pump is working OK as I have tested that also. I have had the tank out and its proving to be impossible to get a feed through the lines even though I have blown them out. Any clues? Much appreciated, thanks, Bob.

Sure you have the pump wired around the correct way? If you have reversed the polarity it will blow instead of suck.
To test which line, put a small amount of fuel (maybe 5lt) and using a hose blow through all three lines, only one should go to the bottom, thats ya pick up line. If they are 3 different sizes your pick up should be the biggest one, with the middle one the return and the small one the breather.
