Cam timing turbo

Post by 4g54gemi »

Ive got a turbo cam ground through camtech 238@50 113 lobe seperation. I didnt degree the cam in :$ . Anyways it is in dot to dot correct. As the car is together Ive only check the IVO and EVC on the balancer and the IVO @ 12btdc, EVC @20atdc (at valve with lash correct). Inlet lift atdc 28", exhaust lift atdc 49" (at valve with lash correct). It idles at 900rpm smoothly with 22 inches of vacuum. perfect for a sleeper :D . Obviously by the specs its retarded. but does this seem right for that size cam? Any thoughts and experiences would be great. thanks

ring camtech and ask them their thoughts , but by what you are saying std cam pin postion seems ideal, the specs you give its a very mild cam smaller than the 20/60 ,more optimised for boost (more lift less duration), and the larger the lobe separation the better they are down low,(108 and less are very poor at idling),usually they will supply a cam sheet specifying optimum position ,all cams are ground different the manufacturer is the best person to ask
