If rattling sound is coming from top of motor,I doubt it is an engine knock,Most likely to be a timing chain rattle, balance shaft chain rattle(if fitted),sticking valves or even your valve clearances may need adjusting.Get yourself a piece of rubber hose and use it to determine exactly where the rattle is coming from.

I think shuggy means valve saver fluid?
You add it to your fuel. I thought that was lube to stop the valves from burning when you run unleaded petrol in a motor that is designed for leaded fuel?
Gas converted motors use the same thing for the same reason.

I don't think it will make any difference to valve adjustment? But I've been wrong before

i always used it in my dirt bikes when i used to ride, i used to have to adjust rockers every ride, but using the fluid i had to do it every 4 or 5.. it just lubes the valve seat enough to stop ware..

dont know if thats how it works but its worked for me thats all i know haah

Did you accidently put marbles in there insted of oil? 5 or 6 marbles would make a pretty good rattle sound

go through your valve reset proceedure, remember this should be done "hot" so wear good gloves and make sure you lock the followers properly. While you have the rocker cover off have a good look at the cam and make sure it is not worn or prem wearing, this will alos make the rockers knock.

Good luck.

Cheers
