Magna 2.6 Help

Post by speedster694 »

Looking to to re power my galant. found this on trade me
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 260795.htm

Want to know if its the same 2.6 that everyone is going on about, and being FWD is it as easy as rotating the motor and changing the mounts?

This might not be the best enging to start work with...if you read the description it says "motor doesnt run too well, one cylinder not working".

But yes this is the engine you can work with and modify to fir RWD. I havent done the conversion myself however it has been readily covered on this site.

4G93 - 1.8L, 1834cc. Available as a non-turbo SOCH and DOHC. DOHC turbo version was available in '92+ Lancer GSR.

Turbo Libero, step down from an evo and not as pricey

4G93T is the one that we got in the Lancer GSR 4WD turbo.
It would be a similar if not harder proposition than the front wheel drive Magna 2.6LT to convert into you Galant/Sigma.What gearbox would it bolt to?

did you want to go EFI? because thats got a carby... (just pointing it out although you probably realise that already)

you need a sigma timing case and water pump aswell to convert it to rwd.
