I use a ridgecrest 2mm copper head gasket with an "O" ringed block. I ran 18lb for a couple of years ,and never had an issue.
Having said that...when the engine was first fired up, it leaked water everywhere. I stopped the leaks with a radiator stop leak. The guy that built the engine had not used a copper head gasket before and did not seal it sufficiently.
About 12 month later I took the engine back to him , and he sealed it properly, and I have never had another issue. That was 10 years ago.
Where can we find a ICS Copper gasket ?? Not keen on O ring the block or using solid copper gasket unless no other choice. The bottom end is now assembled

OK I got in contact with SCE and asked if they can do an ICS Titan head gasket for the Astron and they replied with a YES and that they actually stock them and gave me a list of part numbers http://scegaskets.com/tech-faqs/
Hello Michael,
Yes, we do offer the ICS Titan for this engine, the listing just isn’t loaded on the website yet. P/N’s S91534, S91535, S91536, S91538, & S91539
Awsome work you have done. I'm guessing by several part numbers there are varying thicknesses. Just now need to cc the head and choose the right one. I'll call Aaron Monday and have a chat.
Much appreciated Cheers

i used a $25 cheapo headgasket with my turbo build, was running 18psi and making over 200 rwke for about 20,000km and showed no signs of damage when pulled down.
the pistons however were in several pieces.
Im about to do the same thing and go turbo on a 4g54 however im also going injected (if that makes any difference)
With the titan gasket from summit, are there any block/head preparation required to fit or am i fine just fitting it straight on the rebuilt motor i have? (will be using studs as well)
Sweet. I picked up a cheap complete gasket kit with a graphite head gasket for now so if/when i blow that i know im good with the copper. (although by then its probably time to o-ring the bugger)
