If it has to be a 1.6 he could have a look at a 4G61. They come in several variations: SOHC, DOHC, EFI, MPI, N/A, Turbo,...geezer101 wrote:I doubt you're going to get one of these. Importers won't bother with them as they are a no demand item and they were never available locally. If you want to go down a similar path check out the FWD Galants with the G63B EFI engine or something like the EFI engines in L200 express vans (2 litre). Easier to source, easy to get spares for. And more kW's. If you do decide to do it, make sure you get something that has an exhaust manifold suitable for a RWD install (the L200 has this sorted out) to save you buying panadol.
They were the 1.8 DOHC engines (G62B) No rwd exhaust manifolds that I know of are available for it - it wll have to be a full custom thing.Scorpma82 wrote:i believe they were in early to mid model lancers (aus) in a DOHC + EFI format
ive seen many CA/CB GSR lancers with the 1600 dohc efi enginegeezer101 wrote:They were the 1.8 DOHC engines (G62B) No rwd exhaust manifolds that I know of are available for it - it wll have to be a full custom thing.Scorpma82 wrote:i believe they were in early to mid model lancers (aus) in a DOHC + EFI format

Must've been out of an X1 Excel as they were the only Hyundais that ran a complete Mitsubishi drivetrainVGJONO wrote:Havent driven it yet but seems to run pretty goodalso it isnt a common motor to find i dont beleive, pretty sure this one was converted from east-west configuration and was in a Hyaundai when they found it
