Hey
I'm trying to match up a set of 17" wheels for my galant but was told
I need 4x114.3 20p offset... Does that sound right because i have no idea. If so anyone know when I can find some decent looking ones lol
Cheers

It all depends on widths and what struts you are running.
i run an 8 inch wide tyre with 0 offset and it fits perfect
but i have GJ sigma suspension and custom rear, if you are running the standard galant stuff, check here...

Offset really has as much to do with wheel width as it does about the car you are fitting them on. If you are running a 6 inch rim then you should be looking between +20 to +25. If you are planning on running a 8 inch rim then you would want to look around +0 to +10 so that leaves +10 to +20 for 6.5 to 7.5 inch rims.
With the hardtop you have much more room under the rear than a sedan or wagon so it also depends on the 'look' you are after.
I made this a while ago to explain how to measure offset, hope it helps

I believe the wheels I want are 4x114.3 +45
If I get a 20mm bolt on spacer will that make them fit?

Really depends on width, I guess you are looking at 7 or 7.5mm rim so I would be looking at a 25mm bolt on spacer for a +45mm offset

i wouldnt bother putting 17/18's on a galant, they will look crap. I had 17x7's on one think they were +30 and had to run a 5mm spacer, they didnt fill out the guards are looked okish. why not get some superlites, wanatabe, rota grids, ssr's, work, something that is old school and looks right for the year of the car?

Google is your friend to find pics and eBay or import wreckers are your friends to supply.
Check this out, it is the ultimate jap wheel guide

If you can't find something in that link to float your boat, you have some serious hull damage!!!

Superlites:

Watanabes:

Otomoto also sell alot of second hand old school jap rims also at a reasonable price. The only problemfor you is that they are located in Sydney.

around 15" or 16"
I will photoshop them in and see what they look like.

The 13x6 Hustlers I'm running on my wagon are +5's. I'm running 205 60 13's on them.
The back guard on a coupe would eat them up with room to spare, the fronts just rub on full lock on the firewall. Narrower tyres would solve the problem.

^^ true, the 15x8's I had widened for the rear of the hardtop are running +-0 and have heaps of room. I am pretty sure you could run a 15x10 under a hardtop with the correct offset and tyre combo.

Like the one with the superlites on it. I used to have 13 x 6 superlites on my old LA Lancer many years ago. Found them to be a nice light weight rim.

The silver ones would need to be atleast 18's to look that big, but I agree, that style does look good. If you are looking for that style of wheel then buying out of the USA is the most cost effective ATM.
Here are a perfect fit for $650 to your door

Silver for $675 delivered

These would look sweet and are a bargain for $840 on your door step

I tested one of these in gray next to my hardtop the day that I bought it. They would look great!

I think 15's are perfect for the Gally's but everyone has a preference. You also have a good range of tyres in 15's, khumo for example offer everything from a semi slick to a all 'rounder

So have you been driving the hardtop? We haven't heard much about it since you got it. Hope all is well?
I am sure the new wheels will top it off perfectly.

I will do a bit of an update soon, I have been working on a project gemini since Jan but just about finished that now =)
I have driven the galant but not away from the driveway but the new fuel pump seems to keep it running.
When i put the new ball joints in the gemini i will replace the springs in the Galant and remove the canon and hotdog to
make it legal then its off to the pits.
=D
Also got to rewire a few things. Wires were just soldered together instead of bullet or spade connectors, so ill fix that up.
But its only a couple of months away from being on the road.

I reckon they will be a perfect fit. Worst case would be having to run a 5mm slip on spacer on the front but that would most likely depend on tyre choice. A tyre like this on the front would be a sweet match
