do a 76 colt galant and a 82 lancer had the same coil spring?? do they have the same size of spring in front??

welcome to the site mate. how about posting in the introduction section and posting some pics of your car?
What model 82 lancer is it? RWD LC? i would say its quite possible they would interchange as the struts are similar.
Best bet is jack it up and measure the spring diameter and compressed height
