Hi All

Quick question just fitting front strut with lowered (30mm) Kings KDRL 83. I have bolted all up and strut wont hold the lowered spring captive, out by 10mm approx. Using standard new Monroe shock.
1. Do I need a shortened shock
2. Or the 2nd plate (top captive spacer)from the top could be drilled out so it can slide down the shock shaft 10mm I need. There still looks like the nut can go 10mm if I do this.

What have you guys done?

I used a Skyline /Pintara insert and cut around 30mm out of the strut body below the bottom spring seat. Or just drop a spacer in the leg. That insert is around 70mm shorter overall when extended if you cut 30mm out of the leg. Or 40mm shorter if you use a spacer. And it bolts up to the Sigma top mount.

Thanks
I have just been on the Monroe shock site
I gather the shock off the Skyline/Pintarra is 1986 onwards which is part number 25-0190 as the was no Pintarra listed prior to that year and the Skyline prior to 86 used a different model shock part number 25-3938.

I will exchange my Galant shocks this week for 25-0190.

All fitted with 40mm spacer, like a glove.
