&4 Galant to Manual
&4 Galant to Manual
Anyone out there know what peddle box would fit a 74 galant to convert to manual other then another galant incase i cant find one or which other galants?
Re: &4 Galant to Manual
Welcome to SG.com
i believe any ga-gd galant peddle box will fit, not 100% sure, but maybe a GE siggy aswel??
easiest way is wait til a manual galant comes along and use it, or your car as a doner, its a lot easier to use ur auto to fix up an manual rather than use a manual to convert an auto
depending on condition ofcourse
cheers

I'm not sure if this is right. I seem to remember the gc-gd might have a different bolt setup to the ga-gb. I have one of each here and i'll can check it out in the morning for you.i believe any ga-gd galant peddle box will fit, not 100% sure, but maybe a GE siggy aswel??
Condition has a big deal to do with it and also I'm pretty sure the auto has a bigger transmission tunnel so it's easier to fit in the stronger wideblock gearbox.easiest way is wait til a manual galant comes along and use it, or your car as a doner, its a lot easier to use ur auto to fix up an manual rather than use a manual to convert an auto

Re: &4 Galant to Manual
You will need to track down a manual pedal box from a GC or GD.
Also take note of boosted or unboosted brakes, as they use a different pedal box to each other (if you dont have boosted brakes might be a time to swap that too?)
Nick.
EDIT: from memory, you can unclip the pedal shaft and swap pedals around (as in if you have a boosted brake setup and come across a non boosted pedal box, just unclip the shaft and swap them over)

Old school Mitsu's, its not a hobby; it's a life style.
Re: &4 Galant to Manual
Just confirmed that the gb has a 2 vertical bolt setup for the pedal box and the gd has the two vertical plus 2 diagonal bolts to bolt the pedal box when the is no brake master.
