34/34 are harder to mod to fit because the base plate is really fat, you have to replace the studs in the manifold with longer ones. and they are just a hasstle.. i remember when i had one on my XF wagon.. was a piece of you no what to tune..

32/36 would bemy choice..

Never had any issues with my 34ADM, recon they are a great carb

As for the side draught, if your engine is basically stock then don't bother.

Grab a 34ADM, adaptor plate & some all thread from your local fastner place and away you go (plus a grub screw to block off the factory water passage for the solex choke).

Hmm.

Well it'd be the cheaper option for me anyway.. Ive already got threads and adapter plates.
The Boss said hed give me the carb (as it just sits in the back room).

So pretty much i wouldnt be spending any money on this upgrade haha!

would it be recommended to get the carby reco'd .. or just stick it on and see how it goes.

 & your still tossing up whether to take his offer or not? lol.

If it has been sitting there for a fair while dry, then might pay to pull it apart & check over the pump diaphragm, needle jet seat (some used solid brass, these will be fine, but have seen some with rubber on the end of the needle which can go a bit funny).

Other than that there a pretty simple carb.

Maybe as a learning curve, pull the top cover off the top & clean out the bowl and check the jets - You'll see what i mean by simple lol.

Should be able to buy a chrome air filter for a few dollars from any decent retailer.
Also, you will need to swap your cable linkage over from the old solex.

Good luck mate.
