Hey guys,
Am trying to decide on what carby's to use on my gk sigma, its the 2.6L astron engine, and currently has the stock carby, am wanting just a bit extra grunt, can anyone recommend some good dual carby's for it? and which would be better, one with a manual or electric choke?

The only twin carbys are the hard-to-find factory setup, or sidedraft webers/dellortos which are fairly expensive and a bit of an overkill on an otherwise standard engine.
Your best bet for a mild engine with only basic mods is to track down a weber carb off a falcon and bolt it on with an adaptor plate. Gives a good improvement over standard.

if you are only after a bit more power over standed you can rejet the standed carby and get good results!
you can run up to a 116.3 primary and a 210 secondry with extractors it will make a huge diffrance!

Modify the present carb to give mechanical operation to the secondary stage. This will make it much more responsive without sacrificing economy . This is a relatively simple operation which benefits all downdraught Mikuni/Solexes.

How exactly would you do that?
Just create a mechanical link between the primary and secondary throttle valve levers so they operate at the same time, and disconnect the secondary from the vacuum diaphragm?
Alternatively, would it help to file down the "cam" on the primary lever that prevents the secondary from opening too early?
