EFI Help

Post by 81GH »

Today think might go shopping for EFI
setup for GSR

is there anything i should look out for

Did magnas come with different type of injectors? which ones are better?

Is it worth getting the magna ECU as well?

or going for an aftermarket comp?

what is a fair price for inlet manifold, head, ECU, loom etc?

would 3 months be enough time to get it all done?
as most wreckers only give you 3months on parts?

i have so many questions lol these a just a few.

if anyone could give me any info,or there thoughts on EFI
would help me out heaps

Thanks again

i would no ruin a GSR, as EFI is a bit of cash for not that much gain.
but if you have to

back when i started i got a EFI TR magna for $300 (only had a blown head gasket)
check ebay.

i think it is about 200 to get a inlet manifold welded.
i payed 140 for a head in the past.

you could do it in a day/weekend

aftermarket ECU is all dependant on if you want to outlay even more money

If you have the space in your back-yard or workshop, buy a complete TR or TS Magna, which will then have virtually everything you need for the EFI conversion. Doesn't matter if its a sedan or wagon, auto or manual. These can be picked up from as little as $200, depending on condition. When your finished, just take whats left back to the wreckers for crushing. :)

if you havnt already check out my efi thread in the tutorials section mate.

EFI is well worth the effort. EFI T even better.

I sold my complete efi looms x2, intake, throttle bodies, ecu's x2, airboxes x 2 plus heaps of other spare bits for about $100 mate.

At a wrecker id pay maybe $50 to $80. Tryn get a pick a part day for $50. You can get the intake, wiring loom, ecu, air box, head, sensors and anything else all in one go.

The 4wd efi conversion thread show'd it best using factory gear and to standard type specs, mine shows turbo verison with aftermarket ecu and there are many others.

Good luck and feel free to ask questions if you need extra info.
