Power steer for me GJ

Post by bruggz351 »

G'day peoples.
Well, the decision has been made. We are going to let the VN dunnydore go out of reg in October and re-register the GJ. (H)

The GJ has got to go out of reg this month because we cant afford 3 regos :( . So, we use up whats left on the VN then get rid of it and rego the siggy once more.

NOW, I will need to put power steering onto the siggy. Does anybody know a ball park figure on what it would cost. Me doing the work.
What models are compatible? I realize I have to swap out the column also. Would it be cheaper to buy a complete wreck to rape for parts?

Thanks for any advise peoples...

cheers

Good stuff!

It cost me $150 from the wreckers
Included:
-Box
-Pump
-Column
-Lines
-Bolts&nuts
-Belt

The setup was off a GJ and fitted to my GK, so GN would be fine aswell.

What TVM006 said.

Reason is twofold. My wife finds it difficult to drive with non assisted steering and I have calcified tendonitis in both shoulders which can make driving a real 'pain' sometimes.

fair enough.... I thought sigma power steering is vague at higher (highway) speeds so was interested to know why you consider it.
