Hey there,
I am eyeing off a triton 5 speed at the wreckers and I think this gbox is from a car with hydraulic clutch.
Has anybody done a conversion from cable to hydro? What is the most compatable donor?
cheers
Rob

Re: Hydraulic clutch conversion tips S I G M A
if it a triton 2.6 gear box i have never seen one with a hydraulic clutch, ive got an 88 model as a daily and its cable, starion boxes are hydraulic clutches and have been adapted over in the past, there is a thread on the old site that tells you how to do it,

pretty much a bolt in. a little work. mount gear box as normal, you have to mount the slave cylinder onto fire wall, run lines etc, there is a bit more but not sure off hand, head to the old site (archives) and there is a topic that tells you step by step.

There is very little you need to do and it's all in the mounting of the Staz clutch pedal.rob440 wrote:ok, so is the staz gear a bolt in OR how much modification ???
Here is the old post.
Cheers.

As the Starion box is a "wide box", so yes will bolt up to any wide block astron or siruis block. (approx 13", or 330mm, between locating dowels)rob440 wrote:ok, so is the staz gear a bolt in OR how much modification ???

Keep an eye out for what "Just Jap"imports are getting in.There are located at Kingston.(Bris).
I know of at least 2 Starion 2.6 EFI turbo half cuts that have been there in the last 2 yrs.Chances are they will have the hydraulic set up for you.
