stock tacho hookup

Post by darcy79 »

just wondering if anyone out there has hooked up the stock tacho in a sigma after an EFI upgrade.

if so how was it done, i have seen some wiring diagrams with a resistor or two.

but just wondering if anyone knows how to do it.

thanks

Yep, my stock in dash tacho on my EFI GJ Rallycar works fine. I'm still using a distributor & single coil triggered by a Bosch igniter module, so simply hook up the tacho to the -ve terminal of the coil as before, but remember, the tacho's were never really all that accurate anyway. Didn't use any resistors.

Thanks for the reply,

alas when i upgraded i got a new coil with built in Igniter,

so since the stock tacho doesn't like the RPM out from the ECU i have to find another way

i just hooked the tacho to the coil -ve directly, shouldn't matter what kind of coil your running
