HI all,
A new member here.
I have original Sigma turbo GH #101
I bought it not long ago and have decided to keep it myself and do a full rebuild.
It is a big project and will take lots of time but I am looking forward to it.
I've had many cars over the years, cordia turbos, torana's , all sorts of muscle cars..
At the moment own a big block chevelles SS 1968 but have decided to sell my 78 camaro Z28 so I can keep the Sigma.
Just the idea of having a car that most people haven't seen and it so rare , I am happy with.
This Sigma, has 2.6 , locked diff, MSD ingition, high flow T04, biggerr cam, decompression plate, etc etc
I was told back in day it was a beast of a car.

Re: Sigma turbo rebuild
Welcome aboard
Great looking project starter u have there
Yes, these turboed terrors were quite the dark horse in their day
Some would argue a lil ahead of their time with turbo technology and also safety/luxury equipment
If left in std form, they are a lil fragile in the trans/diff area

Built with pride, Driven in anger
Re: Sigma turbo rebuild
I want to build it for myself so I am not fussed about being original car 100%
I've never had a Sigma before but I am very impressed the way they were built, I must say I love this car and feel
a need to save it as it is a part of OZ motor history.
My wife's first car used to be a Sigma many years ago, so she was happy to see another one.
I keep telling her that, this car is not just any Sigma , it is a very very rare car.
I am sure original turbo setup is limited in it's function today and has it's issues , I ll keep the original parts but will go EFI , intercooler etc
Just so it is more reliable.
I am hoping to have a 12 sec street car when it's finished and looking forward to taking it car shows younger kids can see it.

Re: Sigma turbo rebuild
Thanks guys I will. I am sure I will need help along the way.
Yes, it had few spare with the car such turbos etc
I also bough a spare Sigma to wreck as I will need spare panels etc, to put this one together.
I tracked down the guy that owned it 10 plus years ago, he couldn't believe it .. he is very happy
to see it come back to life.
He also told me a story of pulling a car length once on Ferrari Testerossa ,on Bruce hwy next to Brisbane
Long live Sigma turbos

Re: Sigma turbo rebuild
I've been taking the car a part , it's a bolt and nut restoration.
I ll post pics later.
Bonnet, fanders, all doors , boot lid, , whole interior , dash, roof lining , lights, bumbers, it is all out.
Next part engine and box and fuel tank.
I am fixing this car properly so it has to come a part completely, there is no other way if you want it done right.
