centre/single point injection
Ok people.......I haven't done too much thought or research into this just yet....
But I have a factory '54 twin down draught manifold and was wondering if u could run a pair of centre point injected carbies off a starion or maybe even a ford falcon (for ambit of cfm overkill)
Lemme know what you think

you could, it would be different, but what is the point...
by the time you factor in adaptor plates, computer to run them, tuning etc... you could have just got a Magna to get the multi point injection off of and put it on for a fraction of the price and effort...
that's my opinion of it anyway... your car and money...

Re: centre/single point injection
I'd do the centre point injection purely to be different......the magna injection route is done to death
Imagine the reaction to people looking at the engine bay of a Sigma (a car rarely seen at car shows).... And being in the face of a 4cyl with twin centre point injection......sounds pretty cool to me!!!!!!
I'd be more inclined to look at mechanical fuel injection......avoid ECUs and the like

Re: centre/single point injection
Did the centre point thing about 10 years ago when my 4G62T blew up. Astron 2.0lt, BW35 auto, Microtech MT8 ecu, webber adaptor on the carby manifold with another adapter on top to mount the CPI. TO3 turbo with no intercooler, no tune on 10 psi made about 120KW 15.3 1/4 mile at calder park. With a tune and cooler, Im sure I could have done better.

Re: centre/single point injection
I planned on TWIN centre point injection....how many people have done that
Like I said tho.for simplicity reasons, I'm going traditional carbies

I can get you a Bosch Kjetronic mechanical fi system if you want... Know of a local car in a paddock with it installed.. And for a few more $ I can recondition/rebuild it if you like.

Re: centre/single point injection
Nah I'm right mate.....thanx tho
It was more of an EOI than anything else....but apart from being unique...I can't see much benefit for the outlay required

Re: centre/single point injection
Something I saw a while ago.
Someone modified the inards of an SU carb to take a fuel injector.
Old School look with modern performance.
Cheers.

You want enginuity? Ive got a project . I've worked out how to turn a kjet into sequential inj. Just need to cast a new balance arm, machine a new pin and collar.

Re: centre/single point injection
nah, twin downdraught carbs will work for me.....there's enough uniquness to make it different from the rest of the crowd....without it making it to complicated
