HELP! Car shaking badly!!!!

Hey guys,
Just got my car back from the mech who put my new clutch cable in.
But since getting it back once the car hits 3rd gear, or around 50-60 km/h , everyting starts to vibrate really badly. I thought the car was about to fall apart.
At gear shift when deccelerating it stops for half a second then comes back, as i lower speed below 50 again it ceases too.
Its a 75 galant 4spd manual if thats any help.

I think that info might not be enough to make a proper diagnosis.
The things to work out now is if the vibration it vehicle speed or engine speed dependent. Was the vibration all in the same gear? You could try and put the car in forth gear at that speed and see if the vibration is still there or if it disappears. If it's still there then I would say it would be either in the wheels, tailshaft or diff. If it goes away then it is gearbox or motor related.
First thing I would check is if the tailshaft bolted in securely as this would be the easiest thing to fix.

CHECK your tailshaft bolts NOW (the ones that bolt to the diff).
If they are all good check the universal joints then your tyres.

yep thats it my bet to, its the uni's or tail shaft as i had the same prob in my gl scorp mine was the uni

yes.. on my turbo GH, the tailshaft only had 2 loose bolts holding it to the diff!! it vibrated like hell at anything over 20 or 30kph. my mechanic friend found it when he put it on the hoist for me!! rather scary if they had let go

Another thing to check is that they put the tailshaft back in the same position (relative to the diff and box) that it used to be (if they disconnected it). Tailshafts are usually balanced to a particular position. If you rotate the shaft (relative to the diff of g/box), it will shake like a bastard. Have a look at the shaft - you will probably see a weight on one side of it. Everything needs to be aligned the way it was.
